Leon Maxwell Gellert, 1892-1977, served with the 10th Battalion A.I.F. which participated at the landing of Gallipoli during World War I. His collection of poems, Songs of a Campaign, 1917, was based on his experiences there. His other publications include The Isle of San, 1919, These Beastly Australians, 1929, Week after Week, 1953 and Year after Year, 1956.
